Dawn is coming Promises of light and warmth But I am unprepared How do I receive such gifts?
I'm naked without a veil, bare Thawing from the inside out Heating up too fast, Fingers clutching at my melting past
Everything is new I'm free to move at last.
UncertaintyLead me with your lies To a sickly sweetUncertainty
honey tar pit Shower me with second-hand love, And maybe I'll pretend it's real, Just because I need to feel Running backwards all uphill, Just to taste the fruits there once again. And if it's not the same, we'll just pretend.
Course of ActionYou are the wind That tore the map from my hands Released it to the endless sky And now the road's unclear I failed to plan for what I had wanted all alongCourse of Action
It's easy to go where you've already been, To fall where the mold meets your form. As if it's been waiting for your return Rolling in the past feels comfortable and warm But it doesn't feel the same.
I think I've changed too much to fit the mold, But I can't turn my head from the path. I didn't come here seeking gold, Just a change of scene. I don't really want to be your queen.
Music PlayingKeep the music playing, because in a moment I'll hate myself. Keep the music going, let it beat my heart into a fury. Let it take away my inhibitions, keep it drumming on, or I'll come to my senses far too soon. When I let myself flee, on those blessed melodies, I am truly free. When the music stops, it takes my soul with it. I become mortal flesh once again, and I hate myself. Oh, I love to be free, keep the music playing. Don't let it stop, or you'll lose me.
